A lovely image of how bad the winters could get in Rhynie before the days of snowploughs and road gritting. The community would dig themselves and each other out of the snow. Note how little snow is on the roofs of the houses. Not much insulation there….and those clothes would have been wool and their shoes were leather….brrrrr…
